Former Big Mac site lease - Plimmerton Domain
Greater Wellington Regional Council have applied for a lease to occupy part of Plimmerton Domain with a Park and Ride Carpark. This is to provide additional parking at Plimmerton Station in order to support forecast future growth in passenger rail use and overall population growth.
The part of the Domain that is proposed to be leased consists of two parcels of land, classified as Recreation Reserve.
The site is very prominent, as it is highly visible from State Highway 59, and is part of the visual ‘gateway’ to Porirua City when approached from the north. An aerial photograph of the land proposed to be leased, along with concept plans for the proposed Carpark are below.
