NOTICE OF DECISION BY INDEPENDENT HEARING COMMISIONERS – RCA23114 APPLICATION FOR LAND USE RESOURCE CONSENT TO ESTABLISH AND OPERATE A COMMUNITY FACILITY CONSISTING OF A TEMPLE BUILDING, AN ANCILLARY BUILDING (TO BE UTILISED FOR ACCOMMODATION, ADMINISTRATIVE PURPOSES, DINING AND A SMALL RETAIL COMPONENT) AND NUMEROUS ACCESSORY BUILDINGS/STRUCTURES AND CARPARKING AT 2 OKOWAI ROAD, AOTEA, PORIRUA CITY 5024 (BEING LOT 4 DP 54351)
Further to the hearing of this application at Porirua City Council on the 18th, 19th and 20th November 2024 please find attached the decision by the Independent Hearings Commissioners, Mr. Robert Schofield, Ms. Harriet Fraser and Ms. Elizabeth Burge pursuant to Section 104B and 104D of the Resource Management Act 1991 dated 19th December 2024.
1 Decision
1.1 In accordance with a delegation by Porirua City Council, pursuant to the provisions of section 34 of the Resource Management Act 1991, the Panel of Independent Hearing Commissioners had power to act in determination of the following proceedings.
1.2 The following resolution represents Council’s decision on the resource consent application:
That the Independent Hearing Commissioners, acting under delegated authority from Council and pursuant to sections 104B and 104D of the Resource Management Act 1991, GRANTS CONSENT, subject to conditions, to the resource consent application made by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Trust Board to establish and operate a Community Facility consisting of a Temple building, an ancillary building (to be utilised for accommodation, administrative purposes, dining and a small retail component) and accessory buildings/structures, carparking, lighting, signage, and fencing at 2 Okowai Road, Aotea.
