We’re starting work on Porirua City Council’s next Long-term Plan (2027–37). This plan sets out what we will invest in, the services we will provide, and how much it will cost (including rates) over the next 10 years. The plan is due to be adopted in June 2027, following formal public consultation in March and April 2027. Before we get into further planning, we want to know what is most important to you. Share your thoughts in a quick survey, open until 11 June 2026.
Key focus areas:
keeping rates affordable
maintaining infrastructure and managing growth
addressing climate change
reducing and managing waste
improving community wellbeing.
A few things to know:
we're asking for early input to help shape our direction
no decisions have been made yet
you’ll have another chance to have your say during formal consultation in 2027.
Your feedback will help us:
find out what matters most to our communities
identify any new issues
determine where we can make compromises
develop the draft Long-term Plan.
